WOW! I cannot believe it has been a month since I have last updated everyone! It has been really crazy so I guess that is my excuse!
Last time we chatted (by chatted I mean I wrote and you read) we had decided to do a frozen transfer and move ahead with the egg retrieval now rather than later. We had decided to do this to split up the costs. However, after our appointments we found that the majority of the cost, about 88% is still in the retrieval. Due to this cost break up we are still a long way from being able to afford to move forward. We talked and talked and talked and had decided to seek a loan to cover the remainder of the costs, minus the lawyer and our GC's medications. We had decided since we have been saving like crazy we have also been paying off a few of our smaller bills which has lowered the amount that goes out monthly, meaning we could afford a larger payment on a loan. After what felt like an eternity the bank came back and said we did not qualify. We were heart broken. I personally felt defeated. I am not giving up, but I was so sure we would get the financing that we moved ahead with the start of my medicine cycle, which would have lead to our egg retrieval in early to mid July. Now, it is back to waiting, saving and no idea when everything will take place.
I keep hearing people tell me to be patient, which is easier said than done. The fact of the matter is I can be patient when I know when I am waiting till. For example, I have no problem waiting for Christmas because I know it is on December 25th. It is too hard to wait when you do not have a deadline. Not to mention that until this is done and paid for, our lives are put on hold. Every extra dollar we earn is going toward this.
So there you have it, we are back to "I will update you when I know more."
